The Classical Pilates Mat
This class is taught following the traditional order to the Pilates mat exercises as developed by Joseph Pilates. We begin with the Pilates warm-up fundamentals upon which all other exercises are build upon. The class is designed and modified for individual needs. Beginner, intermediate and advanced students are welcomed!
 
The focus of this class is core strength, spinal and joint stability.


 

Pilates & Yoga Combo
The Pilates & yoga combo class combines the fundamentals and primary core strengthening exercises of Pilates in combination with gentle to deep stretching and breathing. All yoga postures and stretches are designed and modified based on individual requirements and ability levels. Beginner, intermediate and advanced students welcomed! 

 
The focus of this class is core strength & deepening the breath through sustained stretching.



The “3/3” Sequence

Light
weights are used to execute a specific full body sequence of muscle building & toning exercises. The intensity is moderated based on individual fitness level.

We follow through with Pilates specific core and back strengthening exercises and
top off the hour with yoga based full body stretching.
 
 

About the teacher

Sunyata Samson PMA Certified

 
Sunyata’s background includes formal training in classical ballet, modern dance & choreography and stage production. Her formation includes two yoga teacher trainings, the classical Pilates method and advancement training in complementary bodywork such as Yamuna body rolling, Feldenkrais and massage. She has designed and taught teacher training modules on advanced cueing and functional anatomy, and has taught and performed in Europe, Canada and the western United States. Sunyata
feels that an attitude of compassion, consistency and good humor are excellent components for growth and attaining personal goal!

She has been teaching
Pilates for 7 years, holds certification through the Pilates Method Alliance and is absolutely delighted to be part of the Sunshine Coast community!
